Tank is steel with a painted finish. There is no need to paint or coat the tank with any kind of sealant. It is corrosion resistant just like the original. Slight modifications are necessary due to this tank having a shorter neck than the original. You will need to cut the original neck off of the old tank and use the included filler neck hose to reattach it to the new tank.
Note: There is an option to add the compatible single line 3/8" sending unit (not correct for 61 models with two terminal sending unit), straps (pads and universal bolts) and tank pad by checking "Yes." in the appropriate boxes.
